With team members from different generations and backgrounds, our projects take shape, and new ideas emerge, continuously pushing the boundaries of tomorrow’s innovations.
The meeting of 3 complementary talents
Christophe Marquette, Julien Barthès, and Edwin-Joffrey Courtial first collaborated on a project to develop a class III silicone medical device through an innovative additive manufacturing process.
At the crossroads of fundamental research and industrial process development, they founded 3Deus Dynamics to revolutionize 3D printing with silicone, delivering innovative solutions for highly regulated industries.
Our co-founders
Julien BARTHÈS
CEO
3D printing materials specialist and Business Developer
Julien Barthès, CEO of 3Deus Dynamics, earned his PhD in Physics and Chemistry from the University of Strasbourg in 2014. Following five years of postdoctoral research at INSERM U1121, where he focused on biomaterials and bioengineering, he spent six years at a MedTech start-up developing medical devices using 3D printing. Julien brings extensive expertise in business development, innovation financing, and coordinating international, multidisciplinary MedTech programs.
Edwin-Joffrey COURTIAL
CSO
Rheologist and specialist in materials for 3D printing
Edwin-Joffrey Courtial, CTO of 3Deus Dynamics, earned his PhD in Materials Science from Université Claude Bernard-Lyon 1 in 2015. After completing a four-year postdoctoral position with the 3D.FAB platform, he joined the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in 2020. Currently, he is a permanent researcher at the Institut de Chimie et Biochimie Moléculaires et Supramoléculaires (ICBMS, UMR5246, CNRS-Université Lyon 1), where his work focuses on 3D printing, rheology, and mechanical characterization of polymers.
Christophe MARQUETTE
CSO
Director of Research at the CNRS
Christophe Marquette, CSO and Research Director at 3Deus Dynamics, earned his PhD in Biochemistry from Université Claude Bernard-Lyon 1 in 1999. Following a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Concordia University in Canada, he joined the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in 2001. Currently, he is a permanent research director and deputy director at the Institut de Chimie et Biochimie Moléculaires et Supramoléculaires (ICBMS, UMR5246, CNRS-Université Lyon 1) and serves as the coordinator of the 3D.FAB platform, specializing in additive manufacturing technologies for life sciences.
